UCO TO PRESENT KALEIDOSCOPE DANCE COMPANY SPRING CONCERT
The University of Central Oklahoma Department of Dance will present their spring dance concert featuring the UCO Kaleidoscope Dance Company at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 28 – March 2 at UCO’s Mitchell Hall Theater.
The concert will feature innovative dance works by a variety of choreographers including four Central dance faculty members, three guest choreographers and two Central students. Multiple dance genres including ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop will be performed.
In addition to the new original choreography, the Kaleidoscope dancers will perform two works that were created by the late Jamie Jacobson, former executive director and chair of the dance department. The restaged choreography will be presented in memory of Jacobson, who devoted 25 years of service to Central. The pieces are titled “Song for Ireland” and “Sophistication Blues.”
“The Kaleidoscope Dance Company will present a dynamic range of grace and athleticism in a wide variety of choreography. Each work offers something unique from Robyn Pasternack’s (Central dance faculty) vibrant ballet to the explosive work of Kiki Lucas,” Tina Kambour, artistic director of Kaleidoscope Dance Company said.
Tickets to the concert are $14 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and non-UCO students and $4 for Central students with a student I.D. To purchase tickets, call the Mitchell Hall Theater box office at 405-974-3375.
